Me And My Mother

My mother and I went out to dinner tonight. We talked for hours. She tried to keep my mind off SAT's so I wouldn't become stressed. I love her.

SAT's Tomorrow

These two books have been my best friends for the past couple of hours. I know that I shouldn't cram for the SAT's but I have no other choice. My nerves are really bad right now. I've been cramming, worrying, and praying that I get a much higher score than before. In all honesty, I don't feel prepared. I didn't feel prepared the first time. I'll be better prepared for the November test. I'm actually glad that I registered two times this year. Maybe, I am over-thinking the situation, as I do all the others. A good night's rest should relieve my worries.

My Fantasically Dull Day

I call my days fantastic because I am alive and breathing. They are also dull because nothing epic happens. I believe these words describe my life accurately. I am taking the SAT on Saturday. I didn't ponder on the fact until today, in AVID. Time waits for no one! This time around I'm going to think positively. If I think positive, I'll have a positive attitude, and therefore get better results. This is the one thing I am working on this year. So, after school, I went to the AVID Fundraiser.My friend and I talked forever! I always have fun when I'm with Jessica The event was gratifying. Lots of people came out and supported the AVID family.

The Last Minute.

I tend to do things at the last minute. When I say "things", I mean assignments. I desperately need to learn how to manage my time correctly. I dislike staying up all night doing homework.

The AVID Induction

I enjoyed myself during the induction.  This year's ceremony was more intriguing than last year. While sitting in the front row, I felt a sense of obligation. I have an obligation to myself and my family, to succeed. During the course of the school year, I desperately need to push the envelope. I could be doing so much more!

I Am Troy Davis.

     Troy Davis is a man who was convicted of murdering a police officer in 1989. He has been on Death Row for many years. There is no substantial evidence holding him to this crime, only prejudice. I believe that race is an extensive factor in this case. Why does racism still exist? I don't know. "Troy Davis' case is no different than Casey Anthony's." Truthfully, this is an incorrect statement. People protested to have Casey thrown in jail. Many others protested to have Troy Davis removed. There were also protest to halt his execution.

Sharee Nolley, Avid Induction

Sharee Nolley plans to attend a four-year university after graduation.  Her choices include Hampton, Tuskegee, Howard and Florida A&M universities.  For graduate school, this proud AVID scholar desires to attend Columbia University in New York City.  She wants to major in Business Administration. Sharee has enormous dreams of becoming a CEO.  She has participated in the Female Mentoring Program, and the Sisters of Synergy Step Team, at New Town High School.  Ms. Nolley has been in AVID for two years.

I Am Currently Listening To Adele.

The level of respect I have for Adele is tremendous. I applaud her for not conforming to the traditional ways of the music business. She didn't change who she was for the industry. I believe she stayed true to herself, unlike other artist. By far, Adele is one of my favorite singers.

Screw BG&E

Since The Electricity At My House Is Still Off, I'm At My Grandparents House. They Have Everything I Need...Air And Internet Connection. I Can't Believe We've Been In The Dark For A Week! This Is Ridiculous! Yesterday, I Went To The Grand Prix, Downtown. It Was A GRAND Experience. I've Never Seen Racecars, Or Luxury Vehicles, In Real Life. The M&T Bank Stadium Parking Lot Was Filled With Maserati's, Lamborghini's, Ferrari's, Aston Martin's And Etc. Anyway, While I Was Walking Downtown, Taking In The Sights, I Spotted A BG&E Truck. There Was A Man Inside The Truck Smoking A Cigarette. I Wanted To Scream, "Stop Smoking! Get Off Your Butt And Go Turn On My Lights!!" I Was Mad That He Was Doing Nothing While Thousands Of People Were Still Without Electricity. Needless To Say, I'm Livid That My Power Isn't On Yet.
